On Saturday we had a birthday party for Jon Jon. He wanted to have a sports extravaganza, with football, soccer, etc. in the yard. Old Man Winter almost spoiled his plans. Luckily, the weather held and he was able to get some football and soccer in with his friends. We grilled burgers and hotdogs and had some birthday cupcakes. A fun day with family and friends!
A few hours after the party, it started to snow. Not much stuck at first, but by the next morning we woke to a winter wonderland.
Our first Haloween Weekend with snow!
We got about 3-4 inches of heavy wet snow. It was barely enough to plow, but it was a good excuse to ty out the new Fisher snow plow.
Much better than shoveling the driveway!
Yes, we did loose power for about 19 hours! I think this guy was just making sure!
I bought this generator in Guam to provide power during typhoons. We spent 4 years in Guam and didn't get a single typhoon so the generator never saw any action. This was its first time getting a work out!
Although the coast didn't get near as much snow as the interior of Maine and New Hampshire, we suffered with most with power outages because a large number of trees had not lost their leaves yet. The heavy wet snow broke a lot of limbs and downed a lot of power lines. Made for a fun day sitting around the fire with the family! It could have been a lot worse.
