Windy Weather

It's been very windy this weekend, especially today! There was a small craft advisory in effect. I don't think too many folks made it out fishing.

Looks like Tropical Depression 26W will be passing South of Guam later in the week. Forecast models show it passing well South of Guam. However, it will still stir up the seas as it goes by. This may put a damper on fishing over the long Thanksgiving weekend. Oh well! Good thing I have a cute little baby at home to chill out with!

Just watched the new Star Trek on Blu-ray

We just watched the new Star Trek on Blu-ray. Very cool movie. I really liked the way they introduced all of the characters throughout the movie. Blu-ray has to one of the coolest things since shirt pockets! It has really taken out home theater experience up a few notches. Can't stand to watch regular dvds anymore. The PS-3 is a kick ass Blu-ray player. Coupled with our Sony 1080p TV, it rocks!

Draft Environmental Impact Study for Guam's Military Buildup Released

The military release the draft EIS for the Navy and Marine Corps planned military buildup in Guam. The EIS contains tons of information on the planned buildup including moving the III MEF from Okinawa to Guam. The buildup will begin in 2010 and ramp up over several years. It will be interesting to see all the changes that occur as a result of this substantial initiative.

Piracy on the open seas in this part of the world will only stop when it is no longer easy to hijack ships. This is a great thing to see shipping companies start to protect the crews of their vessels in these troubled waters!

Got my iMac back!

Picked up my 24" iMac from Marianas Electronics yesterday. I'm back in business! Logic board was shot and had to be replaced. I love my Macs, but since Apple went to the Intel Macs, I've had hardware problems with both of my Intel based machines. Was back to using my Power PC back up machines the last month or so. The Power PC based systems seemed to be a little more robust when it came to hardware failures. I'm still using a G4 Sawtooth without any problems! Granted, I've upgraded the processor, but it is still rock solid after over a decade of use!
