The latest storm missed us again thankfully!

Well, tropical storm 23W, now Typhoon Mirinae, went North of Guam and spared us here on the Navy Base of any significant wind. Just a fair amount of rain and clouds. We've had a lot of close calls so far this year, but no direct hits by any significant storms. We're knockin on wood to ensure that we make it off Guam without experiencing a major typhoon.

My Mom made it safely to Hawaii to spend a day with my sister Holly on her birthday. Happy belated birthday Holly!

Little Sophia is doing wonderful. She's started smiling and cooing at us. She really is a sweet little girl. I spend most evenings chilling with her on the couch. She really likes hanging out with her dad in the evening. Still waiting on my two Intel-based macs to get out of the shop, so no new pictures yet. I'll post some as soon as I get my computers back.

A TROPICAL DISTURBANCE CURRENTLY LOCATED ABOUT 1000 MILES 
EAST-SOUTHEAST OF THE MARIANAS NEAR 10N160E IS STEADILY DEVELOPING 
AND MAY INTENSIFY INTO A TROPICAL DEPRESSION WITHIN THE NEXT 24 TO 
36 HOURS. MAXIMUM WINDS NEAR THE CENTER...BASED ON SATELLITE 
DATA...ARE ESTIMATED TO BE 15 TO 20 MPH. 

WEATHER FORECAST MODEL GUIDANCE INDICATES THIS SYSTEM WILL MOVE 
WEST-NORTHWEST OVER THE NEXT 2-3 DAYS TOWARD THE SOUTHERN MARIANAS. 
SINCE OCTOBER AND NOVEMBER ARE THE PEAK MONTHS FOR TROPICAL CYCLONE 
ACTIVITY IN MICRONESIA...RESIDENTS OF THE MARIANAS ARE ADVISED TO 
CLOSELY MONITOR ITS DEVELOPMENT OVER THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS. WEAK 
DISTURBANCES CAN QUICKLY INTENSIFY DURING THIS TIME OF YEAR IN THIS 
PART OF THE WESTERN PACIFIC CALLED TYPHOON ALLEY.

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE WILL UPDATE THIS INFORMATION AS NEEDED 
BASED ON FORECAST INFORMATION FROM THE JOINT TYPHOON WARNING CENTER.

Grandma Eileen is in Guam!

Hello everyone!

It's been a while since I updated my blog...sorry for the silence. Life has been hectic since our beautiful daughter Sophia has joined the family. She's a wonderful baby and is doing quite well. Between family life and work I have been very busy and tired, which has left little time for blogging.

Cyndi's mom Shirley was here for a visit after Sophia was born. The whole family enjoyed her visit...it was too short!

This last week my mom Eileen has been visiting us here in Guam. We have had a fun filled week with Grandma and will be sad to see her go. She's been helping us de-clutter the house and we even got out for a fishing trip on the Rod Bender on Wednesday! We caught two wahoo, a mahi mahi, and one barracuda. We went for a swim at Double Reef, and the boys had a great day on the water with Grandma. My buddy John came along and was instrumental in making the trip a success. It was Jon Jon's birthday, and he reeled in both of the wahoo. What a great day full of memories!

Sorry for the lack of pics. Both of my intel macs are in the repair shop and I'm back to using my back up back up computer which can't handle my gigantic Aperture photo library. As soon as I have my other macs back I'll post some more recent pictures.

I hope everyone back in the states is doing well! We'll be moving back to the mainland this upcoming May and are heading to the Portsmouth New Hampshire area. Cyndi has taken a set of orders to the Navy Medical Clinic New England. We are getting excited about coming back to the states. I will miss living here on this wonderful tropical island we've called home for the past three years.
