Friday was Andrew's 10th birthday! I was able to get the day off from work, so we set out bright and early for a day of birthday fun. First stop, PSD, to get Andrew his first dependent id card. For 10 year olds on base, this is a huge ticket of freedom. He can know go to the youth center by himself. He can go to the exchange by himself, and take the base shuttle. He was really looking forward to getting an id. After we got our ids (it took 2.5 hours), we met up with Andrew and Jon Jon's friends Kendall, Josh, and Elias and we had lunch at LoneStar Steakhouse. The staff came out and sang happy birthday to Andrew and he got a free ice cream! After lunch, we drove up to the skate park in Dededo. Andrew really wanted to go, because the Dededo park is normally really crowded, but Friday was only a DoDEA holiday, so the local kids were still in school. We got there and it was a little wet but still skate-able. Its been raining a lot here and it poured the night before, and I was worried that we would not be able to skate at the park. But the sun came out for about an hour and dried up most of the puddles and the boys were able to skate. After that we went to the new Baskin Robbins at the new Air Force Exchange. We had some ice cream and sang happy birthday to Andrew. We had dinner at our friends Jon and Connie's house, and then I had all the boys over for a sleep over. Overall, all the kids had a great time, especially Andrew. It was definitely a birthday success! Sorry the pic is so crappy, I forgot my camera and had to use my cell phone.
